Text Messaging Terms
If you opt in to appointment text messages from Richmond Brain & Behavior, these terms describe what you can expect and how to stop at any time.
Last updated: July 22, 2026
The program
Richmond Brain & Behavior offers an optional text-message program to help you keep your appointments. If you opt in, we send appointment-related messages — confirmations, reminders, and reschedule or cancellation messages — to the mobile number you provide. These messages are transactional. This is not a marketing or promotional program.
How you opt in
You opt in by checking the optional text-message box and entering your mobile number when you request or book an appointment on this website. The box reads:
“By checking this box, you agree to receive text messages from Richmond Brain & Behavior about your appointment request. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.”
Checking the box is entirely optional. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of treatment or of booking an appointment — if you leave the box unchecked, your appointment request still goes through and we will reach you by email or phone instead.
Message frequency & cost
Message frequency varies with your appointments, up to 3 messages per week. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Richmond Brain & Behavior does not charge you for the messages.
How to stop (opt out)
You can cancel the text-message program at any time. Reply STOP to any message — you may also reply QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, or OPT OUT. After you opt out, we stop sending appointment texts to that number. You can also opt out by calling the office at (804) 476-8274. Opting out of texts does not affect your care; we will simply reach you by email or phone.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact the office at (804) 476-8274 or office@beasley.healthcare.
Carriers & delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text messages depend on your carrier’s network and your device, and delivery is not guaranteed. Do not rely on text messages for urgent needs. If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, call 911, or call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Your privacy
We do not sell or share your mobile number or your text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. For details on how we handle the information you provide, see our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the updated terms on this page, and the “last updated” date above will change.
